Tolkien Gateway – the world’s largest Tolkien encyclopaedia compiled from user-submitted data

The Encyclopedia of Arda – a large Tolkien encyclopaedia primarily assembled and edited by Mark Fisher

LotR Wiki - a wiki dedicated to anything and everything Middle-earth.  Like Tolkien Gateway, Encyclopedia of Arda, and every other wiki, this site is built by user-submitted data, so take everything with a healthy grain of salt.

Council of Elrond - one of the largest resource sites on the web offering a variety of unique features based on the creative works of J.R.R. Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings Project – an interactive genealogy of every character in Tolkien’s Middle-earth mythology along with many innovative and invaluable features to explore the books

Tolkien Library - A site/blog dedicated to the pursuit of collecting Tolkien books

The Mythgard Institute
– online Tolkien and Tolkien-related courses taught by some of the world's foremost Tolkien scholars including Corey Olsen and Prof. Tom Shippey

The Tolkien Professor
– a series of podcasts exploring Tolkien's works by Corey Olsen (see also The Mythgard Institute above)

Marion E. Wade Center - an organization funded by Wheaton College that houses and displays large numbers of manuscripts and artifacts from Lewis, Tolkien, and their friends
